Jerez airport is located 5km north of the
city on the NIV. There is no access directly from the Motorway, so leave at the
Jerez North turn off. When you meet NIV, head north a kilometre until you see
the airport slip road. Affectionately known as an airport with Solera, after the
famous method of producing Sherry. This is a modern, efficient, yet quiet airport
with a future. |

Jerez
is an old town with narrow streets overlooked by noble mansions and a series of
lovely Baroque churches. Surrounded by vineyards, Jerez is the heartland for sherry
and Spanish brandy. It's also famous for its flamenco and equestrian events. The
oldest bodega in town is González Byass, located on the west side of Alcázar,
which has celebrity barrels signed by famous visitors such as Cole Porte and Orson
Welles. Its easy to walk around Jerez - all the main attractions are close by
as is the main square: Plaza del Arenal. |
