and trade centre of the Aegean in the 19th century and its capital, Ermoupolis,
was Greeces principal port and is today the largest town of the Cyclades and
the capital of the archipelago. The main characteristics of the island are its
beautiful buildings with the carefully thought out decorations both inside and
out. Some of the better-known buildings are, the Town Hall, the Spiritualistic
center, the Theatre of Apollo, the Archeological Museum, and the medical center
of the island. There you will have the opportunity to receive information about
the history of the island of Siros, and also see the unique findings, monuments
and relics of years gone by. |
